I have been making halters for 15 years. I first started making miniature horse halters after my sister, Liane Paterson of Sheokes Miniature Horse Stud, found it impossible to get small halters that fitted properly. After experimenting with sizing I eventually sold 4 sizes and these proved very popular around New Zealand.
After we bought our alpacas I naturally started making my own halters and make two sizes, cria & adult, which have proved popular. There are lots of holes in the buckle straps for easy fitting and I can make larger size halters on request eg llamas
My halters are made with top quality webbing and are sewn with very strong industrial thread. They are easily cleaned with a gentle wash in warm water and mild soap, then rinse well and hang up to dry.
My halters are fully adjustable for correct fitting. It is essential to make wearing a halter a comfortable and stress free experience for your alpaca.
Fitting adjustments are made with a buckle at the side and a nylon slide (or buckle if you prefer - cost is a little more) adjustment under the jaw.
I have a range of colours available and decorative nosebands are an optional but inexpensive extra.
